CSATM Technology
Cervical Cancer Specific
The CSATM test detects a molecule that
is elevated in the very early precursor stages of cervical cancer (CIN II,
CIN III) and squamous cell cervical cancer. It is not found in normal cells
or other forms of cancer. It is also
not elevated in adenocarcinoma of the cervix; however, this is a rare form
of cervical cancer that is also not detected by the Pap smear.
The CSATM is also the only
existing test for monitoring therapy efficacy. The CSATM test
immediately identifies specific
stages of the disease. CSATM decreases rapidly to normal levels after successful treatment and
increases as an early warning signal of recurrent disease.

cancer was discovered by researchers at the Medical University of South
Carolina (MUSC) (Charleston, SC) and the CSATM
